An Unlikely Pair

Meet Wallace and Jonas. They are probably the most unlikely pair you could find.

I often walk into my kitchen and find a scene like this. Occasionally there is some ear chewing going on, which I'm not entirely sure I approve of. Faces get squished, slapped, chewed, and sat on all for the sake of kitten entertainment. But somehow, despite all the abuses, this rabbit seems to enjoy the attention.

So, while some say these two appear to be enemies, I just say, they are one unlikely pair.

A Cat Called Wallace

For those of you who know me, you know I am an animal person. The only time in my life where I was without an animal was in college. I adopted Jonas, the frequently posted rabbit, because he was the only animal my roommates weren't allergic to. But I finally live alone and it was finally time to get a cat. Actually, he's my 1 year anniversary present from Eric. :) Best present ever. Best boyfriend ever.

So welcome Wallace...

Wallace was adopted from a shelter earlier this week. He's made himself quite at home and his personality is already shining strong. He's the cutest thing you've ever seen. And the neediest. If he sees me walk out of the room he's quick to follow, but if he missed where I went he just sits and cries. Everytime I go to the bathroom he has to come and them when I leave he sits up on the toilet and cries until I come back and get him.

Tonight's my first night back to work since I got  him and I feel like a new mom leaving her child for the first time, only there's no babysitter to watch Wallace. So wish us luck as Wallace and I must be away from each other for the whole night. (and thanks to Eric who's going to come check on him before bed!)

French Cats

When I was in France last year I found myself running into lots of French cats. At first it didn't occur to me that these cats spoke French, not English, so I babbled and cooed to them , happy to have someone to speak English to. Then it suddenly occured to me that these cats spoke French, just like every other person in the country. So alas, I praticed my French on them. I believe I knew about 2 words at the time. Anyway, enjoy a glimpse of these foreign cats...

Backyard

Yesterday I grabbed my camera and headed into the backyard to snap a few pics. Not much is in bloom yet and other than plants, there's not much happening in our yard. The cat, of course, is always a good subject, but he was just not in the mood to be photographed. Or maybe he was, and that's why he kept head butting the camera. It took me a good 20 minutes to get the following picture since Mudles (the cat) insisted on throwing himself at me every 2 seconds. Anyway, Tracey took some pics the other day of this particular flower that inspired me, and it happens we have the same ones in our yard, so I thought I'd try my luck with it.

There were these 2 unusually cooperative bees who kept posing for me as well.

It was like they didn't even know I was there.

And the only shot of the cat that wasn't his blurred head coming at me...
